PDSC is trialling women's only sessions on the windsurfers to provide tuition and support for beginners through to intermediate level and beyond. With the encouragement of other women we can focus not only on the physical aspect of learning a new skill but also the sharing of this challenge and creating connections through shared goals. Windsurfing is an individual sport which we can undertake collaboratively to get more of us on the water!

We will have a focus on strength & fitness improvement, basic sailing theory, orientation around a windsurfer, on shore practice, balance, and getting moving on the water. If you’ve had no, or some, or even lots of experience with sailing or windsurfing, we can all learn and improve together.

If you are a current PDSC member, spouse or even mother of a current member, and you are looking to get on the water yourself or if you just want to come along and have a try at something new, share some laughs, create some new stories and make new friends, then please join us.

Experience Overview

A Discover Sailing Experience is an approximate three-hour sailing experience at an accredited Discover Sailing Centre, without the technical detail of a course, for families, friends, or work colleagues. Having the chance to use the Centre’s social facilities is as much a part of the experience as is getting out on the water. The aim of a Discover Sailing Experience is to encourage participants to want to do more sailing at the club and possibly register for a Discover Sailing Course.

Water confident.

Who should do this course?

This is the perfect 'taster' for anyone who wants to discover sailing for the first time. This is the perfect introduction and can be the ideal way for you to begin your sailing journey, without having to commit to a full training course.

Course Outcome

Following the course, you will receive a completion certificate.

We recognise that some of our course participants are completing the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award and may be using sailing and/or club membership to complete one or more sections of The Award. To learn more, click here.
